Question

Hi,

I heard there is a difference of opinion concerning female prophets.Can give more daleel for both sides . I watched this video where I learned about it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5cY6d4d54A
I know that females can not be a rasul but they can potentially be prophets. Since in Islam you have to believe in prophets according to the video from 9:13-9:52, he said something about a consequence of not affirming all the prophets in the Quran if you deny there being female prophets by following the opinion that all prophets were male. When he means consequence is implying disbelief? I was hoping you could take a look a the clip from 9:13-9:52 and get back to him. Thank you!

Answer

The consequence would be limited to the opinion that one adopts. If one adopts the common position that the women mentioned in the Qur’an were not Prophets then they would only have to believe in those Prophets mentioned in the Qur’an who were men as well as all other Prophets who have not been mentioned in the Qur’an. By adopting this position one will not leave the fold of Islam based on another opinion that these women were Prophets.

As for those who adopt the position that these women were Prophets then they would have to affirm the Prophethood of these women specifically.
