We pray that Allah the Almighty helps you through these difficult times.
Breaking away from a cycle of sinning and sincerely repenting is not always easy, however, it can be achieved. The first point to remember is that you should not give up hope. A person may give up repenting to Allah the Almighty because they have repented so many times but keep falling back into the sin. We have to remember that Allah the Almighty created us with the capacity to sin and there is a level of understanding that human beings, due to their nature, will sin. However, it is our duty to work towards correcting our way. Below are a few narrations from the Prophet (may Allah bless him and give him peace) regarding sinning then repenting which should provide the bigger picture.
The Prophet (may Allah bless him and give him peace) said: “Every son of Adam sins, and the best of the sinners are the ones who repent.”
He also said:
“If you were to commit sins until your sins reach the heaven, then you were to repent, your repentance would be accepted.”
He also said:
“Were you not to commit sins, Allah would create people who would commit sins and He would forgive them”.
From these narrations we understand that people will make mistakes and sin, however, our duty is to ensure that we sincerely repent from the sin.
Getting in contact with a spiritual guide and mentor and following their advice, attending their lectures etc. can definitely be helpful.
