Question

Assalamu aleikum,
If non-Muslim accepts Islam 5 days after Ramadan started and he starts fasting, then should he fast another 5 days after Ramadan finishes? In other words, should he fast for the rest of Ramadan only (25 days) or he should fast 30 days?

Answer

He will only have to fast the remainder of Ramadan. He will not have to make up the first five fasts after Ramadan.
