Assalamualaikum,

Iam 27 years old female have undergone tubal ligation I have two daughters mashallah but now I want another child.can I opt for IVF.

Answer

IVF treatment is only permissible between spouses if there is a strong need such as when one does not have children and conceiving natural birth is not an option. As you have already been blessed with two children it would not be permissible to opt for IVF to have more children. The reason for this is that the process of IVF entails certain acts that are prohibited in Islam under normal circumstances, such as uncovering the private area. Such acts are only permitted at times of necessity.
