Assalamualaikum
Is pre planned halalah permissible in islam. What I have heard it is a major sin but will the marriage with previous husband be valid if it was done only for the purpose of making the woman halal for the first husband ?

Answer

A pre-planned halalah is unlawful and those involved in it may incur the curse of Allah the Almighty as mentioned in a hadith. For this reason engaging in pre-planned halalahs must be avoided. From a legal standpoint however, if a pre-planned halalah did take place, it will take effect and the first husband will become lawful to marry.
