As-salamu alaykum,
Few years ago I bought modded Nintendo Switch with pirated games, and I have downloaded some pirated games myself. Having realized that playing pirated games is prohibited and that I cannot restore Nintendo to original state (to play non-pirated games) I decided to buy a new Nintendo and games.

The question I have is what am I allowed to do with the Nintendo Switch that I own at the moment, considering it is usable only for pirated games. Is is halal to sell it in that state, to give it as a gift, or I have to destroy it?

Answer

We would discourage selling pirated consoles. The reason being that the buyer would most likely buy the pirated console to play games and not any other reason. Disposing of it would be better.
