Question

Someone’s wife committed zina behind the husbands back. How will Allah s.w.t. compensate the husband for the wrong that was done to him.

Answer

Allah Most High is the one who grants honour and disgrace. He will reward and compensate the husband in the best manner. As the husband is unaware of his wife’s wrongdoing he is not affected by the violation of his rights. Allah has concealed her sin and forgiven her and he will ensure that in the hereafter that her husband is pleased. Allah the Almighty says:

They will have all that they desire there (in paradise), and we have more for them. (Qur’an, 50:35)

We have to remember that Allah will always reward us abundantly and handsomely compensate us for any difficulty we suffer. Imam Bukhari mentions a narration from ‘Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him):

I visited the Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings be upon him) while he was suffering from a high fever. I said, “O Allah’s Messenger! You have a high fever.” He said, “Yes, I have as much fever as two men of you.” I said, “Is it because you will have a double reward?” He said, “Yes, it is so. No Muslim is afflicted with any harm, even if it were the prick of a thorn, but that Allah expiates his sins because of that, as a tree sheds its leaves.”
