Is chemical castration permissible for men struggling with sexual desires and who are struggling to get married ?

Answer

It is not permissible for a man to castrate himself due to sexual desire. One should try their best to get married and in the meantime adopt other means to reduce the sexual desires. This could include fasting on a regular basis, avoiding foods which encourage sexual desire and most importantly keep away from environments and situations that arouse sexual desire.

وَعَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ، قَالَ: «رَدَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ – صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ – عَلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ مَظْعُونٍ التَّبَتُّلَ» ) أَيْ: الِانْقِطَاعَ عَنِ النِّسَاءِ، وَكَانَ ذَلِكَ مِنْ شَرِيعَةِ النَّصَارَى، فَنَهَى النَّبِيُّ – صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ – عَنْهُ أُمَّتَهُ ; لِيَكْثُرَ النَّسْلُ وَيَدُومَ الْجِهَادُ. قَالَ الرَّاوِي: (وَلَوْ أَذِنَ لَهُ) أَيْ: لِعُثْمَانَ فِي ذَلِكَ (لَاخْتَصَيْنَا) أَيْ: لَجَعَلَ كُلٌّ مِنَّا نَفْسَهُ خَصِيًّا كَيْلَا يَحْتَاجَ إِلَى النِّسَاءِ. قَالَ الطِّيبِيُّ: ” كَانَ مِنْ حَقِّ الظَّاهِرِ أَنْ يُقَالَ: لَوْ أَذِنَ لَتَبَتَّلْنَا، فَعَدَلَ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ: اخْتَصَيْنَا إِرَادَةً لِلْمُبَالَغَةِ أَيْ: لَوْ أَذِنَ لَبَالَغْنَا فِي التَّبَتُّلِ حَتَّى بِالِاخْتِصَاءِ، وَلَمْ يُرِدْ بِهِ حَقِيقَةً لِأَنَّهُ غَيْرُ جَائِزٍ
