Question
Assalamualaykum. Received a call from someone for potential Janazah.
They have a question which needs Alim input.
Their grandfather has had an amputation of lower leg recently and the limb was kept by the family and buried in their back garden. The grandfather is in his final moments. Their query is whether that limb needs to be excavated and buried together with the actual Janazah if and when the Grandfather passes away.
Answer
We do not see any reason for the limb to be excavated and re-buried along with the deceased. Once the limb has been buried it has already been dealt with in the correct and appropriate manner.
